Since independence, Baku has avoided slavish adherence to a Washington Consensus or the doctrines of multi-lateral institutions. It has built an economy and society that is the envy of post-Soviet nations.

And now, the country is forging an independent path in post-conflict rehabilitation. Within President Ilham Aliyev’s zealous 21st century programme, the ambitious Karabakh Economic Region is primed to create 150,000 jobs by 2030.

At its heart, creating employment and attracting investment, Aghdam Industrial Park and Araz Valley Economic Zone Industrial Park  have emerged as the vanguard of socio-economic development.
